 sharing a rod stand
« Thread Started on Oct 24, 2010, 7:12pm »

just a quick one i was setting up last night and all of a sudden someone from 150 yards away came rushing along the beach and set up in front of me :-[

not beliving what we saw just carried on fishing

then what a bite !!!!!!!!!!! no how wrong was i the so called clown was winding me in

no words were exchanged

we were so confused as to why someone would move from where they were fishing to get with in 3 feet of me on quite a large beach

give other people a bit of consideration and dont crowed me as i dont catch anything anyway ;D

Sounds a bit mad - but I know how you feel.

I was fishing a beach on Hayling one day, when, with miles of empty beach to choose from, some idiot with a yak decides to launch right under my line. [image]

I figured I'd let him carry on, and if he was unfortunate enough to snag me, then I'd simply play him back onto the beach (the fishing was quiet, and I had 20+ pound mono on that day).

Well, I watched him loon about in the surf - falling off his yak three times in as many minutes - until the tide race eventually took him sideways and away from me. :smiley-happy068:

I did briefly consider flicking a lure out to see if I could get him back (it really was a quiet day) but decided in the end to let him carry on towards Norway. [image]

Mmm
this tends to happen a lot on Sandown Pier, without wanting to blow my trumpet I can winkle out Macky and Garfish even when they are very finicky/scarce and it does make me want to spit when within a minute of landing the first Macky/Bait of the day you have an erk either side you casting across your float ........... :o(

I always make them go elsewhere, you have to tell them that they are running a huge risk of causing a massive tangle as some are so thick they have no idea. No, I don't care how big they are even at my age.
